Mount Rushmore

thought I would pass on some info if you are planning on visiting Mount Rushmore in SD. All tunnels were engineered so that you would have a view from either entering or exiting the tunnel. Photos taken from the tunnel of the monument were taken with a telephoto and cropped, the monument isn't as close as it appears. The side view of Washington is not often seen, take the Needles Hwy outside of the monument and keep an eye out for the side profile. It will appear in your rearview mirror, many miss it. September into October is the perfect month to visit this region, great weather and not many tourists

It is funny though Dave how many people we have met in campgrounds that missed this view completely and have visited the monument several times over the years.
