Spring-bloomers! The Onc. sphacelatums won't be blooming here for another 6 months!

Thanks for sharing! (I will try to get some fall-bloomers shot, but the weather here has not been agreeable for outdoor anything, let alone wasting film...)

These look good to me, Rob - I dig the 3-D effect.

As far as I know, all Australian orchids bloom in spring, but I could be wrong! The dendrobiums are certainly doing well this year.

Thanks Jer! I'll post some more when I get the chance to edit them.

Well, Onc. sphacelatum isn't a native Australian orchid -- all of the Oncidium-relative plants are Western Hemisphere natives. This particular one is native in Central America, although it is widely cultivated elsewhere. The Miltonia is related to Oncidiums and is also a "new world" species.

Some of the native Australian orchids -- including the famous "Cookie", Den. bigibbum or "Cooktown orchid" -- are late summer or fall blooming.

Regardless, I enjoyed your images!

Thanks for the info - I knew that not all the orchids I photographed were Australian. The majority were - and not very colourful. I had a couple of GB of photos and I haven't had the chance to edit more of them.
