I want to know how you get these shots without the dog running at you when you get close to the ground. LOL Nice series you have there. TFS

I know exactly what you mean. To a dog, the "hold still, I'm taking a picture" position looks just like the "come here, I want to pet you" position. That used to be a problem when I used autofocus, but now I just preset the focus and use focus trapping. It actually helps that they tend to come up to me.

For these pictures, though, I held the camera way down at their level while moving towards them in burst mode. With such a wide lens, It doesn't really matter that I'm not looking through the viewfinder: everything's going to be in the frame, anyway. It can scare some of the smaller dogs, though. Sorry, Puppy!
