The DA 35mm f/2.4 is a favorite of mine also, but checking the EXIF data shows that you're making some choices that are (IMO) reducing the overall image quality.
In the first one, the shutter speed is 1/250s and ISO 800. Why not try 1/125s and ISO 400? Better I.Q. and still hand-holdable shutter speed.
2nd, Shutter 1/5000s, f/5.0, ISO 800. I'd drop the SS 3 stops (1/2,500, 1/1,250, 1/750) and use the 3 stops this way; 1/750s, f'6.7, ISO 200.
3rd photo, f/5.0, 1/4000, ISO 1600. Unless you really need to freeze the wings, this SS could be dropped at least one stop, maybe two. This brings the ISO back to 800 or 400, respectively.
Bear in mind, I'm from the 'Lowest ISO possible' school, even with a camera that has good high-ISO performance. So I'd sacrifice shutter speed and/or /f/stop for I.Q., saturation, clarity and resolution, anytime. Even to the point of bringing a tripod along in broad daylight.
The overall composition and colors are good, but clarity and contrast could be better. Lower ISO and a polarizer (now we're getting into tripod territory!) would pop out all the colors and saturation.
And, you might want to bring a wider lens along, too.
JMO, YMMV,
Ron
Ron, thanks for the very useful info. I didn't realize that very high shutter speed can degrade IQ. I can easily control that and the K30 LCD screen. To me, IQ is everything, of course. I've been too ISO crazy.
This will help me a lot. Warmest regards, Freddy
P.S. The K30 is a great learning tool with the infor available and controllable on the LCD screen. Pretty soon I'll be getting the DA L 55-300 lens, which I think will open many options for me. I don't ever want to
stop learning.
