it's a Bigma moon night.

It was a gorgeous day here in the Northeast and the moon looked great in the clear sky tonight. After a red solo cup or two I had to drag the Bigma out.--charliezap

Can you try uploading that again? I'm seeing a lot of artifacts that probably aren't in the original shot. Could be a postprocessing glitch or maybe the forum overcompressed the JPG.

Charlie, how come you only took a photo of half the moon? Looks good from my end, of course I am having a fine Merlot while observing it.

I think that I over did it a bit with the sharpness. Here is another that seems to look better when I looked at it under magnification. It shows less artifacts but doesn't seem as sharp as the first shot. Thanks for the heads up.--charliezap

You should use higher shutter speed to cancel effect of Earth's rotation and avoid motion blur. I recommend at least 1/500, 1/125 is way to slow.

A good feature about the moon is that you can come back to it month after month until you get it right.--charliezap
