As I mentioned in another post, my intention to do "serious" photography at last-week's, three-day Houston Grand Prix was thwarted by the fact that I was in the company of my car guy buddies who had no interest in standing around while I staked out positions to produce the ultimate race photographs. Thus, I left my K-5 et. al. at home, and simply carried my little Panasonic LX-5 for the occasional snap shots I found convenient to capture. Here are five such photos, which I intend to keep, that I grabbed in and around the pit area after IndyCar qualifying for the first of two IndyCar races during the weekend.

Hey Bob, I haven't seen a major drag race since seeing Dyno Don Nicholson in Nashville during my grad school days in the late '60s.
