Forrest Path in HDR
Posted By: xs400, 03-29-2008, 09:55 PM

I went for a walk this afternoon and took a number of shots so I could practice my HDR technique. K100D, 18-55mm kit lens, and Photomatix Basic 1.2 for HDR. All shots were handheld.

i really like your HDR work Frank! very natural colours
although the last photo seemed like it's not aligned properly?
and as like your Tea House, can you post the EV 0 just to see the difference.

Well done Frank. I really like the first two. Those twisting trees really make the shot. THe HDR does not look overdone. A nice series.

Thanks for all the comments. This series of shots were all taken hand held. One thing I learned from this is I should use a tripod. The alignment was not perfect because I moved a little during the 3-shots for each HDR. I guess I wanted to test the ability of the Photomatix Basic HDR program to align the shots, and I found out it is not perfect.

Here a 0ev shot for #2 above.

In my limited experience I have found it not possible to do HDR without a tripod, since even a small shift in positioning will blur the result.. even with the software's automatic superimposition. That said, these look pretty good!

I think that these are a bit blurry but it seems that it
made the picture better.
