My almost forgotten lens.
Lens: Takumar 135mm 3.5 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Saugus Ma. ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/250s Aperture: F11
Posted By: charliezap, 10-15-2013, 09:07 AM

I dragged out this very very old lens to use in the Weekly Challenge(Not your favorite glass). It surprised me.The barrel is very stiff --aperture ring--nothing automatic and min focus distance 6-7 ft.I think that it deserves a few more outings to earn its keep.--charliezap

Looks real good to me.

I have a Takumar 135mm F 3.5 that I bought in the early '70's. You've inspired me to search it out and use it once again. I always liked it, was built like a tank and took great pix.

It brings me back to the old non auto days where we had at the most was match needle values for setting an exposure.--charliezap

I remember those days well. When I first started in 35mm photography my first SLR (Pentax S1a) had no meter...I used a Sekonic hand held meter. Both still work, but I rarely use either one anymore.

Nice shot, Capn. Nothing to complain about with performance.

I thought that I was in 7th heaven when they came out with a prism that had a light meter built into it for my Miranda camera.---charliezap

Very nice colour from this old glass. I recently acquired one myself and like it very much despite the limitations, or perhaps even because of them.

I probably won't have a chance to use it again this week because we are leaving for Fl on Sat but then again I may make time.--charliezap

Using that lens Bruce brings back how it was done in the old days before everything became fool proof.--charliezap
