Thans for sharing these great shots. When the name Kingfisher comes up I alwasy assiciate that with a bird holding a small fish in its mouth. Good to see that they eat insects as well.

Two reasons.......Otis comes to PF occasionally mainly for two reasons. #1 is to see if there are any naked girls posted. #2 is to look for your Kingfishers. He loves those little birdies so much, and no one has better shots than you. He sends his best regards and thanks you for your wonderful shots!
As always, he will trade you a box of squirrels for just one of those little birdies!

Regards!

What a beautiful bird Ken. You are so lucky to have such wonderful species to photograph although I think our birds can seem wonderful to those who don't see them everyday. Wish I had half your skill at taking these shots.

Great shots, especially the last one! You make me want to get that Sigma lens! (and then I realise that getting these photos requires a lot of time, talent and effort not just a lens)

Thanks andre, I also have the same thinking but this chap can take scorpion, snake, grasshopper, big spider, lizard & other stuff for meals.

Thanks Susan, yes I'm lucky to have such colorful bird visiting our place though they just stayed for 2-3days.

Unfortunately, $5K for a lens is out of my league!

Hi

I think it's a toy bird running on batteries made in some factory in China. The blue LED lights on its wings give it away.

Nice !!

Greetings
