Need Feedback: Cropping

These photos are from the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix. I'd really like your feedback on how/if to crop; I've posted two sets of before/after, showing the original and the cropped versions. Let me know what you think.

Set #1: ISO400, 1/3000 sec, Manual Exposure, f/2.0, 35.00mm, Pattern Metering
Set#2: ISO400, 1/90sec, Manual Exposure, f/11, 55mm, Pattern Metering

One more to consider

Sorry, I meant to include this cropped version of Set#2. I'm not sure if I like the "up close" crop, or this one.

I like your crop on the brown butterfly and I like the last crop you posted of the white one better. The shot of the white one was a difficult exposure, it looks as though his wings are blown out a bit. I couldn't have done any better though, I have that problem too. Well, I would have that problem......if it would quit snowing, lol.

I suggest you try moving the butterfly in the first image to the upper left rule of thirds position. The out of focus background in your crop overwhelms the butterfly IMHO.
