Mushroom Hunt with B.W. Bear
Lens: Sigma 70 macro Camera: K-01 Photo Location: Whitney
Posted By: normhead, 10-23-2013, 09:42 AM

There are a lot of photo in the series, so I can't post them all in a thread. If interested click on the link at the bottom.

I have noticed a lot of mushrroms in the woods the last few days, so I was thinking. "Macro Mushroom Magic." But then I thought, "I have hundreds of Mushroom shots, what can you do with those things, I need to do something different." So today on my walk I took a great buddy who lives on top on the camera case in my dining room. Bird Watcher Bear. He's always ready to go, knapsack on his back, binoculars around his neck.

BW checks out a shroom...

Hey that shroom is just the right colour to be a hat.

I think I'll try one on, this one looks to be my size.

Two shrooms are better than one...

Checking out the fungus among us can be a lot of work.

A few fungi that are more my size.

The biggest shrooms of the walk.

Very cool looking shroom, it looks like coral.

This is so cute, Norm! Thanks for the laugh this morning. I'd take that one with the cap on B.W.'s head and hang it on the wall. It's so perfect.

I'm visiting my parents in misty Oregon right now, so I might actually see some mushrooms of my own! My mother likes mushroom hunting. I'm sure she'll love this.

Thanks Susan, I do seem to be getting some requests for further adventures, I'm going to need some more scripts though. I was just trying to get one up on daacon's chicken.

Indeed very cute and creative - as well as some very sharp images.

One of my daughters used to use an old honey bear as here "photo companion" in shots like these...

Thanks for commenting, I tend to think of it more as playing with a figurine in th ewoods with a camera.

I'm sure your daughter and I would have a blast doing a story, with another person to bounce off, it might become a book. Unless she left neverland.

Very nice Norm, creative and original. I liked the fuschia shots on your bucket slideshow. The colors look great, and it looks like you had a nice walk in the woods too!

I forgot to water those fuschias in a drought last summer, and pretty much did them in. It's good to see them make it back to flowering again before the end of the season. There's a message in that story, I'm just no sure what it is.

As others have said, fun and creative. I like the first one best, and you're right, the last fungus is a Coral Fungus.
