Midgley Bridge
Posted By: Bob Harris, 10-26-2013, 10:49 PM

I left Sedona headed up the 89A to photograph the fall colors in Oak Creek Canyon. Pulling into the bridge turnout to photograph into the canyon really didn't produce much color and then I realized my photograph was right in front of me. The bridge that we had crossed over so many years on our visits to the area but I had never taken a photo from this location. Taking a look at it brought back memories of the Erector Sets I played with when I was a kid so b/w was my choice for the 1939 Midgley Bridge and what it may have looked like right after construction was completed.

Great work Bob! Very artistic and moody. Love the lines and arcs, strong use of contrast and the composition is really good. You really evoke a "sense of place and time" with this image.

Bob, this is one cool photo, for sure. Normally, I'm not too hot on vignetted photos, but this one works perfectly.
