Try filling the buffer sometime... it sounds like a sewing machine (quieter than a Canikon machinegun). The speed to write out the buffer, at least to only one UHS-1 card, is also impressive. Keep on shootin!
True, I haven't filled the buffer and as long as I'm using the Pentax software and each file is 145 MB I'm thinking I don't really want to.

Is it me or my perception that pics look so much better, given that the forum posting size is the same between the K3 and older K what ever?
great shots of the birds as well.
Given that I didn't really nail the focus, I'm guessing that they look way better than K-5 images would, but that's just a guess. ANd once I got the RAW images loaded the noise wasn't nearly as good, there must be some noise reduction in the JPG engine, maybe 400 will be the new 800, or hopefully 800 will be the new 800 ( highest comfortable shooting ISO). Our power has been going off and on, I had to get the generator going that didn't run all last winter.) I've been pretty busy for a retired guy.

Not sure how much hassle it would be but for RAW could you use the software CD that comes with the camera?
Regards
I did that, but that means huge file sizes. I'd be filling a gig on my HD with 7 images.

Where did you get it ? Henry's ?
Yes it came from Henry's

This should be our last thing for a while. Unless we decide to sell the 2 k-5s to get Tess a K-3. I'm going to have to see better high ISO response before we make that decision.
