Reflecting on Autumn
Camera: Panasonic LX-5 Photo Location: Sturbridge, Massachusetts
Posted By: Sailor, 11-01-2013, 01:50 PM

I love reflection photos of all kinds, and we get a lot of great ones here on the Forum - especial in the fall, when the changing colors of leaves replicate themselves so crisply in a still pond or lake. Here's a pic I grabbed a couple of weeks ago in Old Sturbridge Village; it certainly breaks no new ground for this photographic genre, and the colors were a bit past their prime. Still, I rarely have an opportunity to do this sort of thing, and I'm grateful to have been able to get this one.

That's nice. I'm inspired now to dig back into the files and find some fall shots and pretty them up. Good one!

Well done Jer what a lovely scene. I think New England is my favorite fall location although I have not been there since I was teenager.

Nice! I love the reflection and the way they lead my eye to the bridge. Portrays the end of fall in a beautiful and serene way.

Hey thanks, brother Bob. With my handy little camera, I was able to sneak in more photography than I expected. I've got some more shots from Sturbridge Village I plan to post in a day or two.

Appreciate it, Jerry. As I mentioned, I was glad to get it - we don't see much of this sort of thing around here (where it's still green).

You're right old buddy; I grew up in Illinois and lived for extended periods in Tennessee, Ohio, Michigan and Massachusetts. They all offer beautiful autumn days, but nothing compares with Fall in New England.

Hey, Susan, thanks a bunch. It's impossible to beat New England in the Fall.

Hi Jer. I was watching the Rolling Red Sox Rally from Boston here in Fl.and many trees still had a lot of color that will all but be gone when we come home on the 16th.--capn zap

You know, Capn, when Connie and I lived in Watertown back in the day, it always seemed to us that in the metro area, trees seemed to retain color longer than those in the western part of the state. I guess because the city, close to the ocean, retains heat later into the season.
