Life in the Fast Lane
Camera: Panasonic LX-5 Photo Location: Grandsport Speedway, Hitchcock, TX

For Christmas last year, my younger daughter gave me Ride-A-Long offered by Racing Adventures: essentially riding shotgun in a fast car with a professional race driver at the wheel. Originally, the ride was to be in a Cobra Replicar, but I had the opportunity to take my spin in a striking, orange Lamborghini Gallaro - I'd rather ride in a real Lambo than a Cobra replica. In any case, the experience was a blast, and here are some shots - taken by my wife - documenting that experience.

Racing Adventures also offers various programs that allow one to drive cars like the Gallaro - something I'm going to look into.

Later today or tomorrow, I'll post some photos (made with my trusty K-5 and DA 55-300) of other activities at the track on this gorgeous fall day.

Jer

"My" Ride:

Down the straight:

Wannabe Race Driver (gray hair and gray sweatshirt) and an actual race driver, David (wearing the maroon shirt), who gave me a real treat. By coincidence, I met David (who's based in Arizona) at the Houston Grand Prix a few weeks ago.

Looks like fun Jer.

For my money, totally inadequate to buy one I must add, nobody makes a more striking car than Lamborghini.

It does, indeed, brother Bob. The driver, David, clearly knows his business.

Hey thanks, buddy - I may have to try this behind the wheel. It'll cost about 300 bucks but could be worth it.

I agree, Tom. Lambos are extreme and in-your-face. I don't they are the most beautiful cars on the planet, but they are the most aggressive and - sometimes - over-the-top. I can tell you this: a Gallaro is one fast SOB and sticks to the tarmac like grim death.
