Fall Colours at the Lake
Lens: Tamron 90 f/2.8, Tamron 17 - 50, Pentax 1.7x converter Camera: K5 Photo Location: Prospector's Point, South Algonquin
Posted By: tessfully, 11-04-2013, 05:53 AM

The sun was bright and the wind whipping. I took all but the first and last from a distance across the lake. The blowing leaves froze via a fast shutter, causing them to look sharp and the high sun created high contrast. I never got back before all the leaves were gone. Even though they are not wonderful photos and last years colour was much better, they are a record of Fall 2013 at our special place.

First, our canoe and kayak, the way over to our campsite.

The view down the lake

Trees on the cliffs

Along the shore

Reeds and reflections

Thanks for commenting Charlie. These are just after peak season, and the reds and burgundies were not rich like last year. I actually like the colours before peak, with lots of green mixed in.

Very classy, tess. I especially like the trees on the cliffs. Nice job, as always.

Why would you delete *any* thread you create?
Your images are always so wonderful!
You always take me to that special place up there in the great (soon to be) white north!

Still lots of color remaining on those trees Tess. I really love the shot of the reeds. The vertical lines and the colors and the simplicity of the shot are really wonderful.

Thanks Dave… nothing white sticking around, still lots of browns and burnt oranges. Did you get blasted with that winter storm?
