Atlanta Aquarium [5 BIG images]
Posted By: Buddha Jones, 04-01-2008, 09:50 AM

I have gone through my 225+ images, found about 20 that I like and 5 worth posting.

Not the bet, but the best that I could come up with. None are particularly sharp, I suck at panning, the gator was best because he was just laying there. Slow lens on some so high ISO was used. I will do better next time.

Comments always welcomed, please be kind...

I think these are absolutely gorgeous! The alligator is my favourite by far, also like the colours and composition of all of them.

BTW, are fresh water alligators actualy aligators? Or is it just a typo? Sorry, but I could not resist making this remark as a person, who has not English as his native language

Well English is my first language, and I guess I suck at that too... Two L's.

wow these are really good, I must say compared to the normal zoo pictures fare these are in a completely different class. outstanding! the aligator is amazing, the sharpness and clarity of the head is incredible. and the fish shots are also amazingly good, shooting fish is very though through dirty glass and with bad lighting. the compositions are also spot on, something thats tough to achieve with moving subjects. bravo, and you say none of the shots are sharp? must be something wrong with my eyes

Alligators are generally fresh water and crocodiles are salt water. There is a fresh water crocodile, but it's very rare.

That exhausts my knowledge of gators and crocs.

Nice shots, Buddha! I like the alligator the best. Very crisp shot. It's hard to shoot through the glass. I tried to take some shots there last summer and got a few "meh" shots, nothing spectacular.

The gator shot is great.

I thought the differnce between an alligator and a crocodile is that alligators have their teeth in their mouth and a crocodile's teeth stick out?

Very good series. great colours and since they are shot through glass, I don't think you could have done any better with any lens. Good stuff! Glad you 'recovered' these from the buried files.

Hey jay, It is easy to like the alligator shot... but I think I like the first one the best. Just something about the fish dangling at that angle works for me... And the colors on that one are real nice...
