Take a Hike!
Lens: various Camera: K-5 Photo Location: woods and wetlands
Posted By: tessfully, 11-09-2013, 09:55 AM

I just love my morning walks with the dogs. The places we visit have become familiar friends.

Walking through the woods

Hopping over small streams and waterfalls

Hanging out in my favourite wetlands

where I photograph reflections and fungi...

Thanks for taking a hike with me

Staggeringly good.

The colours and the way you've brought out the reflections. Stunning work.

beautiful area, does the wetlands area completely freeze over during winter?

Thank you Trevor… that is a very hard place to photograph as so much is going on visually. I was happy to get these and the reflections made them, I think.

Hello Bob! Yes, it freezes solid. I am not sure if it is technically a wetland, but I don't know what to call it. It has wetland features, but also massive boulders and rocks suggesting it once was a large river bed, and there are a lot of trees going out of the mounds of bog, making it part forest too. I love it there and in winter is is gorgeous too.

Wonderful images Tess, that is the most that I miss about Ontario, hiking in the fall colors.

Thanks Heinrich! Every year is different. This year the colours were not as vibrant and did not last as long. I blinked and they were gone. Maybe one day you will come back for a visit during the fall season?
