The sun is setting so early these days. We are about 5 weeks from the shortest day of the year. While the summers are full of sunshine and daylight , up north here the winters are dark. We get 16 hours of daylight in June , and less than 8 in December. I left the house about 3:10 pm to make it to Astotin Lake an hour before sunset (approx 04;45 pm). There were a few people there , some cross country skiers, a couple of others there for the sunset and at least one other photographer checking out his new Lee filters with his Nikon D600.
I walked up the hill and was more or less by myself. It was a very nice evening, however the temps dropped quickly once the sun went down. Winter coat, gloves and a toque were all used in the making of these
