Cruisin' on the Palouse
Camera: Pentax Optio 450 Photo Location: Washington State
Posted By: GeoJerry, 11-12-2013, 07:49 PM

An abstract-ish image from my old point'n'shoot pre-DSLR days. I've found that I can actually get something out of these old 2 to 4 MB jpegs, which until this weekend I mostly ignored. I did a bunch of these and got some decent results.

This one is taken on southbound Highway 195, somewhere near Pullman in the Palouse country of eastern Washington state.

Seeing this image is giving me the itch to visit Eastern Washington in the late spring.

Thanks all for the comments.

The painting look comes from a very slight application of the Simplify slider in Topaz Simplify. Simplify also applies a color correction that I think gives really rich colors and nice hues.

Stunning image GeoJerry...it's the eye, not the megapixels that count.
