I love the colours, nice and crisp, without being too sharp! At what focal length was this one Rob?

Thanks! It's got a lot more interest than the other lilies which were white. According to the EXIF data, it was at 150mm (225mm equivalent). I was about as close as I could be and still focus, kneeling on the edge of a platform in a very awkward way...

Thanks Cee Cee - I was worried that a sudden gust of wind was going to dump me in the pond, but happily it didn't!

Thanks Bob! I don't imagine there would be many water lilies in the desert areas you've been travelling lately!

Thanks! It's a great value lens. I certainly recommend it to anyone who needs an affordable lens in the 55-300 range. It would have been hard to get the same framing with a DFA 100, although actually I discovered that I was a bit too close with this shot - I can't crop it to HD resolution because there isn't enough vertical slack to remove. I would have been much too close with an DA*300 (and I should add that I don't own either lens although I'd like to!). The K5iis also helps the lens to shine.

Great shot, Rob. Those shadow areas really make the flower pop.

Regards

Thanks everyone! You have certainly made teetering on the edge of the pond worthwhile. Happily there wasn't a strong gust of wind to hit the heavy plastic blind and make me test the water seals (and although the camera is weather sealed, the lens isn't - not to mention the backpack or me).
