Fire in the hole
Lens: Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG Macro Camera: Pentax K5 Photo Location: Sointula, BC, Canada ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/1500s Aperture: F9.5

It wasn't a tragedy, but a controlled burn of the old place behind the Co-Op store in downtown Sointula. The firefighters used it for rescue and fire training all day, before razing it to the ground.

It happened at just the right time. I got off work and walked out to see if they were doing the burn and the first wisps of smoke were coming out of the upstairs window...

That is a really great shot. The colors and the depth of the flame and the charred bits that remain really are striking together. Well done.
