Dreaming of Summer
Lens: DA 10-17 FE Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Lake Jackson, TX
Posted By: Sailor, 11-24-2013, 07:07 PM

My wife and I have both been suffering through bouts of some viscous bug (flu?) that has overstayed its welcome many times over. To make matters worse, we're dealing with weather cold enough to raise our ire even in late January . To lift my spirits, I shuffled through some photos taken during summers past. Here's one from a spectacularly hot day a couple of years ago. Now I feel a lot better .

Cool shot! Makes you feel light headed after a bit. Takes me back to high school.

Are you sure this isn't from the racetrack this summer? Great use of the lens, try a couple of shots of a high octane beverage for temporary relief, get well my friend.

Oh dear! Interesting and unique street-view. Great shot… of all your hot summer shots "Dead End" is the one that stood out? Sorry to hear about your illness. Get well soon.

Probably not the best sign to focus on when you are feeling poorly. Hope you both get back to feeling A OK soon. I love the shot. Hard to believe it is getting cold where you live (not so great here either.)

These FE lenses are sure fun but the photos they produce can cross your eyes sometimes. Thank for looking, Dave.

Thanks much, tess - the logic I used for picking this shot is a bit labyrinthine; Connie and I are physically quite active (walking, biking, shining cars . . . . ) and our flu (?) along with the weather has immobilized us a bit. Thus I've been sitting on my posterior far too long and now am experiencing the symptoms of a . . . . . . dead end.

Thanks, Susan. The logic for Dead End is in my reply to tess. It's remarkably cold here - I don't remember this kind of weather in November in the 18 years we've been here. The good news is that within a few days, forecast highs are returning to a more typical mid'70s.

Thank you very much, Norbert. We're starting to feel human again. How's the Solstice?

Since we have freezing temperatures and snow will be comming soon I put the winter tires on.
I guess you don't need these in Texas, right?
Take care

Hey Norbert, we can keep summer tires in action all year, which is fortunate, since I don't have to buy extra tire sets for both my Porsche and little hot-rod BMW - I've spent enough on these two guys already .

I hope you and your family are doing well.
