A CityScape and a Tree
Posted By: daacon, 04-04-2008, 10:23 AM

What do you thing of this one ? Should I crop some of the bottom? Is it too dark ? I really like the sky but it might be too much sky ?

This one reminds me of simplier times. An old neighborhood with an old tree that has seen it fair share of history I'll bet

Dave, on the first shot I'd crop top, bottom and the right side. I'd keep the "natural" stuff on the left and I'd also crop more from the bottom than the top.
I really like the second shot there is a peacefulness about it.

Thanks Salty - that is not my neighborhood and to tell ya the truth it is not the best neck of the woods but I did catch it at a peaceful time for sure.

I like both shots Dave. I think perhaps you've overdone the cropping in the second version. The main area for cropping IMO is the lower darker portion which would also enhance the landscape panoramic feel. But this is all personal opinion at the end of the day. I like the peaceful historical feel to the BW image.

I like the cropped version of the CityScape very much. The distortion of the road from the fisheye in the second shot, makes it quite interesting. Nice work.

I think the cropped version is much better Dave. Like the B&W shot. Well done!

Thanks Paul subjective for sure , I do like the cropped version better but there are numerous other crop options that would work as well.
