i like the last 3 although they might be lightened up a bit?/ Beautiful texture and color in those rocks. I was in LV in Feb but didn't get out to there.

The polariser really brought out the colours, Ken. I also like the last 3 shots, they're a slightly different aspect of Red Rock canyon we don't normally see. Terrific patterns well captured.

Nice images. When I was out in Vegas I went to Valley of Fire 3 times and never made it over to Red Rock. I'll have to put it on my list next time around... maybe this fall...

Thanks for the comments. I'm probably overdoing the CP but first time using it so something appealing to the dark skys that I'm not accustomed to getting. I hiked several of the trails while I was there. I found getting down into the "wash" area between the Calico Hills and Sandstone Quarry quite nice. I also liked the hike up to the Calico Tank (starts out from Sandstone Quarry parking area.) A climber's mecca judging by the folks staying at the campground - just down the road - tap water but no showers - guess it's closed during the summer due to the heat - kind of a foreign thought for a canuck.
