Here are some shot of Common Crossbills male and female coming down to drink in a puddle filled up by me.
These were taken from the drivers seat of a car using a Kirk window mount with my gimbal and flash bracket attached, K5/Sigma 500mm f4.5 EX DG/Sigma EF-610 DG Super, no flash on the last shot.

Lovely series Gary. I have only seen crossbills once (I don't think we get them here) and it was a pleasure to see them here. You sure gave us a perfect view of the reason for their name.
