Roadside Sawmill
Lens: FA 50 macro, DA 21 Camera: K20D Photo Location: East Tennessee

Was cycling back from a visit to a local school recently, and noticed something I've passed 100's of times, but never paused to really notice. There's an old sawmill set up under a shed along this country road. Stopped to take a few snapshots...

From the looks of the blade, this sawmill has been used pretty recently...

Gears are well-lubricated.

Despite a bit of rust, all the pulleys and cables look quite functional.

This will teach me to pay more attention as I'm pedaling on down the road!

I do the same, ignore the obvious way too often. I think there are photo ops everywhere, we just have to stop and take a look.

Old machinery can be such fun to photograph. Nice job on these. The third is my favorite.

What in case there are some spare parts for your cycle?

Bob - Well said indeed!

Susan - Thanks! Something I've not tried much before, but will have to try again...

Kerrowdown - I did once find a quick-release skewer - sure makes you wonder what happened!! More often find fresh roadkill - which helps me add more species to our park's animal skull collection!

Nice shots. I like seeing classic old machinery still working, have a few vintage pieces myself. The first shot is my favorite, those are replaceable teeth on that blade.
