First time this year-Evening Grosbeaks
Lens: Sigma 70-300 macro Camera: K-3 Photo Location: Whitney, Ontario, Canada

Staying for the winter or just passing through? We don't know. They came late yesterday evening and then came back this morning…

Best photos I've ever seen of these gems. I'm still hoping to see one 'in the feather.' One of these days...

We had them once over 20 years ago. The came and stayed three or four days, ate us out of house and home but have never come back. Beautiful creatures.

I've seen them in flocks of 30 or 40, but we don't usually get more than about 10. And they are flighty. They get spooked, and often don't com back. The Blue Jays spook them sometimes, so with 6 Jays hanging around, I'm not sure they'll come back.
