nice shot, i've been waiting for some clear skys here in sunny England to try some shots like that.

He used Bulb Mode (It's the "B" on your mode dial)

Wow Adrian ... that is awesome.

One question I have though is ... do you have a slightly larger version of this shot?????

I have been tempted to do some bulb mode shots lately ... nights have been cooler and very clear at home ... and the Milky Way has been vibrant.

If you set your camera to Bulb, surely it can be held open longer than you state.

I have never tried this and I would give it a go. Maybe south Australia has better air quality than Melbourne!

So Victoria please send us some water to fill up Lake Alexandria and the other lower lakes @ the end of the Murrey River (-;

don't the photos get noisy when for very long shutter times? and what's camera darkframe?
