Post your household shots
Posted By: roentarre, 01-19-2007, 08:59 PM

This idea was suggested before. Trying to be creative around the house and capturing images with unique perspective could be fun.

We had already seen many great images captured inside people's own dwellings.

If we already had up to 1000 members registered for the site, we should get at least a few responses.

The weather this weekend is so terrible for me, I managed to get some shots around the house.

Cheers

Anything around the household would be suitable for posting.

Roentarre. You have some very nice photos there. The flowers in the garden is my favourit.
I thought about your post while I enjoyed the great view we have from our deck. So I took what was sitting close to me and let the view frame it. Hope it fits in with your idea.

Cheers

This is great. Thanks for posting. The beer looks very cool in deed. It can be creative at home too.

Another pic from today

Nice idea for the stay at home photographers among us, roentarre. This is the new groth on a Poinsiana tree in the backyard.

Taken while testing a new old m42 lens: Tokina 28mm f2.8 @ wide open.

Was really pleased to get the aperture blades ungunked so that they operate nice and zippy.

Mirage effect with a oily effervescent green there.

This is a fantastic shot!

LOL Yep, I bet that Tokina felt happy!

Crappy weather this whole week too...

Playing around with the flash and DOF (smc P-FA 100mm F3.5 Macro)

Finally got the Sears f/1.4 out of the bag:

This is nowhere near the quality of the previous posters here but this is "around the house" lol. It's the condo complex across the street from my place as seen through my fisheye.

Cool, Alan! I have a ca. 1938 Omega Seamaster - passed down from my great uncle to my father and then to me.
I need to get a new band for it, though.

Hi Sean
I posted this one over in DPR a few months ago. It was a color version. I did this playing around with ACR 4.0. All the processing and B&W conversion was done within ACR. The only thing I did in PS3 proper was smart sharpen.

The Sea Master was my grandfather's, the other was my dad's. I really don't know how old either of them are.

Cheers

Wow this is impressive. Really good quality shots as well!

To Duh Vinci, the cat has such beautiful details in the face with a nice coat. The bokeh from P Fa-135mm f3.5 macro is outstanding. It is the sharpness in the middle part of the leaf that brought out the stark contrast of DOF.

To Alvin, who doesn't like a fish eye lens? Great to see the dramatic distorsion of citiscape.

To Alan, the fireplace has such a great glame caught in the image well: clean and poetic. The floral shots are nicely captured too.

To Roy, this replacement part is so shiny and reflective. Almost like a future like product. What replacement part is that device for? Really nice

Unfortunately, those pictures aren't showing for me. I love watches, Omega in particular. I hope to get to see them. I have a 1952 Seamaster, one of the earlier ones, plus an old "Pie Pan" Constellation, in addition to a new Moonwatch. There's a watch forum (TimeZone) that features a sub-forum on watch photography. I've been meaning to get back into that forum and try to take some shots of my watches. Some of those guys are really good photographers.

<edit> - Ahhhh, now I see them! Great old watches. I love them!

Great idea, Roentarre. Shouldn't you be watching your auction though.

Here's my attempt at indoor photography, taken with the kit lens last Thanksgiving.
