Well, a snowy egret, anyhow. Hope everyone up north is safe and warm during the current storm.

Really pretty, Julie - kind of a hazy, mystical feel about the shot. We've had a remarkably cool and cloudy fall (usually the nicest time of the year) here in SE Texas. Next week promises to be more normal with highs in the 60s and 70s - which means the top goes down on my roadster.

Thanks, all. Much appreciated!

Sailor, this bird was standing on a very tall faux rock formation at the entrance/exit area of the zoo... quite a distance from my position, across a "lagoon" (with a lot of pelicans, will share one or two of those once I have processed them). So it was a bit of a "long shot", hand-held with the kit lens, very late in the afternoon. Light was gorgeous, though. Shot a bunch of this one, in various poses, and didn't realize until I got the image files out of the camera that I had been able to capture the filmy plumage, too.

Love egrets.
Yeah, it's even snowy and icy in Texas.
