Nature Purple Crowned Lorikeet

Thanks to help from members of the local bird society, I got to photograph a couple of Purple Crowned Lorikeets which have turned up in Canberra, outside their normal range.

Lovely shot... a tad oversharpened though IMO. I've stopped sharpening my shots altogether these days on my D800E but still add a touch on my K-5.

Never seen one of those. We get Musk Lorikeets & Rainbow Lorikeets in the tree next door all year but never one of those.. Thanks.

Thank you. Resizing in PSP always softens images, so I apply a bit of sharpening to compensate. It's the lowest amount of sharpening the software can do, so the only other option would be not to sharpen after resizing. To my eyes, the image at HD looks consistent with the original at camera resolution.
