Grand Canyon - One Pano, One Sunrise
Posted By: Buddha Jones, 04-06-2008, 04:35 PM

While everyone else was shooting the colors of the canyon, I decided to shoot the sunrise itself. It was a cloudy day so I took advantage of that, I like it, especially the detail in the rays of light that was caught coming from the Sun as it was blocked by the cloud.

Best viewed fullscreen on the Flickr site.

A cold ass morning at the Grand Canyon, I could barely tolerate it.

A 38 image horizontal pano from one of the points on the South Rim.

They are both superb Jay I would love to see a bigger version of the 2nd but understand if dont want to post it. The 1st foreground is a bit dark but other than that great shots.

One other thing, I have noticed other people putting these great big borders and text on pictures. I dont quite see the point for a forum post as it dramtically decreases the size of the picture and seems to take the attention away from it, I do understand if it is being printed at poster size though. Not really a criticism but more an observation

Good stuff.

Nice Job!

Both are awesome.

I think the darkness of the shots actually make them.

Great Job Jay love the colors and the stiching looks seemless. I am curious did you get to that horseshoe shapped glass walkway out there ? I heard you were not allowed to take camera's out there . I was at the Grand Caynon about 5 years ago it is a breathtaking place for sure.

Thanks everyone.

Dave, that walkway is on the North Rim IIRC. I will get there eventually, but you have to pay to get on it in addition to getting into the park, and I think you are right about the no camera deal as well. I am hoping on my next trip out I will get to go down into the canyon.

Great photos, wonderfully done, really enjoyed both (and yes indeed, view large size for the full effect)

Regards,
D

P.S. 38 shots... - wow!
