I have been very sporadic on the forum these days. Just a lot going on, but I an doing my best. It has even been hard for me to get out with the camera between being busy and minus 35 Celsius temperatures. But I did steal away yesterday for a bit. A few photos from my outing.

and a lovely sunrise off the deck from about a week ago

thank you for having a look!

Great photos, nice framing and processing. Stunning detail and tones, especially on the first (macro) ones.

Wonderful set, especially the middle three--the "winter" macro's really give you a feel for the "bones" of the natural world.

Thanks CreationBear! I love that phrase 'the bones of the natural world' --- super theme by which to shoot.

Haven't looked at too many posting in a while, but really glad I stopped to look here. Tess - your work just keeps getting better. If I can offer one suggestion - I'm not sure putting the subjects pretty close to dead centre works for #2 and #3 and you may want to recrop more towards the rule of thirds. I can see why you did it this way, but maybe because I'm guilty of doing it all the time I can see why it doesn't quite work as well as putting the subject off centre might.
First and fourth are just amazing.

You have a great eye and the talent to capture what you see. Very nice series.

All of them are wonderful as usual, Tess; but the first and third ones are over the top.
I'd almost be willing to trade both of my eyes for just one like yours.

Those really are great photos, Tess. I have to travel a fair distance, to the Tasmanian highlands, in winter, to see anything like that. There's a beauty about colder climates that most Australians never experience, personally. It's a baking summer already in many parts of this country.

Thanks MSL… I was so busy trying to fit things I wanted into the frame I didn't think about positioning the centre point of interest. Thanks for the helpful feedback!

Rob, I always enjoy seeing "down under's" hot weather shots when we are in the midst of a deep freeze. I love the winter and feel fortunate there is so much beauty close to home. Thank you for commenting.
