To me, it almost looks like some type of ring flash but I could be wrong. It is pretty cool.

I think it is the shiny side of a CD up close.

Very nice Em, drops and star bursts it doesn't need anything else.

Bob it's a Blank DVD-R That failed to burn properly so I use it as a prop. With the recording side facing up I spray a little water on it to get the drops effect and will state I do this in sunlight so I get maximum reflection and refraction of light.
