First focus stack
Lens: Pentax FA 100mm f2.8 Camera: K5 II Photo Location: Studio (Dining room) ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/8s Aperture: F9.5

This is my first attempt at focus stacking. After reading a recent edition of Practical Photography (UK mag), I set the dandelion flower up against a black background and took six shots. The work was performed by CombineZP, a free program, and I painted out a few blemishes with Corel Paint Shop Pro X2. I reckon this technique could easily be incorporated into future DSLR's. Just select the start focus point (nearest to camera), and finish focus point (farthest from camera), push the shutter button, and the camera processes the (six?) shots together.

Nicely done. An intriguing thought that this could be handled 'onboard' with one click.

I think the Ricoh CX series does have some form of focus-range shooting mode that does this type of thing... at least capturing the various shots, but not final step of combining them into one image.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I'm keen to give this a go on a landscape with lots of foreground as well as background interest.
