Cruising: Photos taken at 120 km./hr.
Lens: Tamron 90 f/ 2.8 macro Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Toronto to Whitney Ontario

It is about a 5 hour drive for us to get back home from my son's place in Niagara Falls. For some reason I am inspired to shoot photos out the car window while Norman drives. I have always deleted them when I get home but this time I thought I'd share some of what we see as we travel from the city back to our home in the wilderness.

On the road

Along the 400 series highways

Passing by the airport

CN Tracks

Where highway and industry displaced farms

Canada's Wonderland

Things are starting to spread out

I love this shot... I'd be just as happy if I took it set up on a tripod

Home sweet home!

Happy New Year!!

Ahhh so you do this too… These are all quite interesting!
I liked #3 and 4 especially, and the Canada Wonderland shots.

Thanks Jerry! I remember your shots out the window of the moving bus... they were wonderful! It amazes me that I can get a photo this sharp while sitting in a moving car but fail so often when standing still.

One thing... the colours were all a bit funky. Refraction/reflection maybe....

on a tripod or at speed, it is cold. Way to cold even in a vehicle, but I do admit I enjoyed viewing your trip home, high SS I would assume?

Thanks for commenting Bob. I just checked and my shutter speed was anywhere from 1/500 (plane, factory) and then after switching to ISO 800 it went from 1/2000 up to 1/5000 (Canada's Wonderland). Now if I could just make that work when I take pictures of birds.

You have such a great eye. Even at 120 km/hr. Great series.

Ah, life in the fast lane! A delightful (but cold-looking) series, Tess. I love the irony of shots of Canada's Wonderland, and the "country houses" remind me of the midwest states where I spent so much of my life.

I love to shoot from a moving car, but my photos tend to be narcissistic; the object in the mirror is even dumber than it looks:

Firstly Happy New Year to you both and thanks for posting these Tess, I'm just a sucker for a good set of travelogue images, I get to see some of the country you'd never get to see unless you where there.

Thanks for the tour. I also like to take photos out of the windows of moving vehicles. I'm always amazed at how well some of the photos come out.
