We went last year too...

This guy is waving to the crowd...

Not a bird, but he lives at Birdland...

Also not a bird but at least he flies. Sometimes an FA 50 ƒ1.7 is handy.

And sometimes the built in flash is a good thing too.

2012 Birdland, for those who want more.

Thanks, a bit embarrassing about the processing though, when I process for the web, I use presets and copied setting applied to large groups of photos. If I was to make a print, I'd probably do 15 minutes to an hour and a half on each image, before doing a test print that might lead to more processing.

I never take more than a few minutes on an image unless I think it has print potential.

Wide variety well executed shots of our birdlife and reptilian creatures, nothing not to like.

We'd have to stay for a week.

Which reminds me of a story about my mom.
Once she was flying into Seatlle for something and one her friends asked her where she was staying. She said, "I don't know". Her friend was bit shocked and asked if she'd made any plans at all. She said. "Before I go, I google the bird loca watching sites, and I pack my binoculars. Then I take a cab from the Airport to the site. I stand around look at birds and eventually someone starts talking to me and invites me to stay at their place." Apparently this routine never failed her.

I'd need to do something like that.

We don't have a West Edmonton Mall, but Birdland will do.
