The Rattlesnake repellent I bought from the corner street vendor worked: I didn't see a Rattlesnake all day long!

I'm not sure that I would want to go to a place called Rattlesnake Hollow.

It was nothing to do with the fact the snake was frozen solid and stuck to the snow then?

Well, if I was a rattlesnake, I wouldn't want to be out in the cold.

Love the replies, guys. The name on the sign is not a misnomer - the hollow is full of Timber Rattlers in the summer. The DNR has a Rattlesnake roundup every spring, where dozens of volunteers go in and capture the snakes and sell them to medical outlets to make anti-venom. My brother-in-law hiked to the spot in the photo one day, only to find a huge rattler sunning itself on a nearby rock.

Who the hell would be crazy enough to volunteer to round up rattlesnakes?
