Here are a series of photos from a trip to the Washington DC Cherry Blossom Festival last week. I was disappointed it was a cloudy day, but still had a lot of fun.

All comments and critiques welcome ... always interested in ideas on how to do things better.

Very nice job composing your shots! Some blue sky would have definitely been a bonus. Was out there 10 years ago when the trees were in blossom, so beautiful!

Very nice compositions, especially numbers 1, 2 and 5. Unfortunately they suffer from a pinkish cast, what program did you use to process them?

i like 3. others are definately let down by the dull sky.

The pinkish cast resulted from an experiment with a little warming filter in photoshop. I'd talked myself into liking it, but am still not sold.

I agree on #3 is my favorite. The grass is vibrant and constrasts very well with the soft color of the blossoms.

Nice Shots looms.. Cherry blossoms or any fruit tree type blossoms are always so nice..

Your pics makes me inpatient for the orchards where I live to start blooming.. I have a road that I have pegged out that is lined by cherry and fruit trees... Just waiting for spring!!

Man I envy you, I wanted to go up there this weekend so bad, but I don't think I can afford 3 out of state trips in consecutive order.

I think these are some of the best images of the Washington DC cherry trees in bloom I've ever seen. Very good compositions.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I've really been enjoying gettting back to photography after a multi-year break and this forum's been great.

We're finally getting our first few warm/sunny days to go with spring, and I'm very happy.

Incidentally Buddah, the blossoms are pretty much gone now, so better wait until next year. IMO it's also worth a vacation day to go on a weekday and avoid the crowds.
