A Wye Valley Series
Posted By: Dr Orloff, 01-06-2014, 08:34 AM

There has been a lot of rain in the UK recently, where I spent a couple of weeks over the Christmas holidays. Flooding is unfortunate for many but it is photogenic. These were taken early one morning in the Wye Valley on the borders of England and Wales. The Abbey was a separate visit in late morning hazy sun. K5 and 12-24 apart from the last, K30/2.8 (stitched).

Bigsweir Bridge 1

Bigsweir Bridge 2

Muddy Track

Bursting The Banks

Tree With Crow

A466

Tintern Abbey

ok - the color version of the A466 also works extremely well (having come here from the B&W conversions)

Very nice, I personally prefer these over the monos. There is something Turner esque about the light in these.

Thanks for all the comments, much appreciated. MikeL, I want to achieve something of a painterly feel with my landscapes so your comment means a lot.

I like all the photos !

It's said that photos are the poetry of light and shadow.
However,
Rain and fog still could create an amazing image.

Very nice shots. I especially like the road and the abbey images - makes me want to get back to England.
