Ghost Tree

I'm glad this critter was rooted to the ground - that way I didn't have to run (until after I took the shot )

Interesting, kinda spooky. Are those caterpillar "tents"?
Did you get any shots a little further back, with more of the tree and its settings?

Thanks. Actually, that's Spanish moss being pummeled by a very stiff NW breeze. In this case, I didn't put the tree in context; I was too interested in watching the dancing moss .

I think so too. In the winter, when the sun is low, the entire wildlife refuge has an eerie, other-wordly feel to it (at least to me) even when there's not a cloud in the sky - as was the case here.
