Some birds and beasts:
Posted By: Tom Lusk, 04-12-2008, 08:04 AM

It's nice to see some of the creatures showing up after having been hidden away for the winter. Here are a few recent shots:

A river otter (shot just at dusk resulting in the odd colours)

A raccoon shot from my bedroom window:

A pair of common mergansers taken when out on the St. Lawrence River this week:

A strange squirrel that turned nasty on me - full frame:

A goose that had been searching for a nesting site:

I just love this time of year!

Squirrel? Hmmm... Oh yes, the Squirrel-Stink-alot specie. I believe!

Nice photos. I love the raccoon shot!

I was wondering when you'd wake from your northern hibernation. Glad to see some more excellent work Tom. The Raccoon is great. You could sell that one to Laz-boy!

Great capture of the Canada goose. Good thing that 'squirrel' is facing you'd have a hard time sneaking up on any new wildlife for a few weeks! Do you keep a couple of cases of tomato juice handy?

Welcome back Tom - we missed those great Canadian widlife shots. Excellent Series. I particulary like common mergansers shot. And like Peter says you might want to check your books for what type of "squirrel" that was - I hear if you lift them by the tail and stick you nose reall close - there will be no doubt on species Great job as always!

Tom,
Great shots! Nice shot of that stripped squirrel. I've never been able to catch one out in daylite hours. Glad to see you posting again.

Tom, this is such a delight to browse through your wild life shots again. Very different variety this time and these shots are almost like national geographic channel magic moments captured on camera.

I love the inflight shots where the ducks were fighting ?

Great series

Glad to see some of your local residents You really live in a beautiful area and I really enjoy your photos. (rather have a coon around the house than that squirrel)
