Another great series from you, Stefan - very impressive. I had no idea that there was such a place as the "Temple of Hercules" in Jordan - I'll have to hit the internet to learn more about it!

Thank you Jer. Amman's Citadel is one of the oldest inhabited places in the world--it has a couple of Neolithic caves next to Roman, Byzantine and Umayyad vestiges. Here's some quick info about the Citadel and the Roman temple:

A great series of images and I note not many folk about in them.

Were these all taken at silly O'clock hours in the morning or something?

Thank you! Early afternoon hours: 1-3pm--but I patiently waited until tourists went out of my frames

Thanks, Stefan, for the link to the brief history of the Citadel area. My course in Western Civilization back in my freshman year of undergraduate school is . . . . . well . . . . . history, itself.

Jer, don't think I was very knowledgeable of the area's history before visiting the Citadel!
