i met up with WMBP,Will, today at a local lake to shoot some birds. i mainly shot with an A300 and the tak500. some with a 2x on the 500mm. i had a really crummy day but did get a few shots worth keeping.

there was a kingfisher around and we both were trying to get it. it was a long way off. none of mine came out well . this is the best i got with the 500 + 2x TC.. i did notice that with the 500/2x i got way too mich CA. this is heavily cropped and PPed..

Roy, your standards must be pretty high to keep 6/100 shots. These are great shots!

I'd still like to see some of the runner-ups. Some of the shots I take for my friends that I think are bad or awful are often liked by my friends.

I've had 2 days where I got 0 out of over 100 that I liked enough to keep
Plus I've had days where I kept 80+ % so it all works out in the end.

BTW, I like all your pic's Roy

getting a great close up shot of a bird flying like in #3 and #4 is very hard (at least for me) and getting them as sharp as you did is a big bonus. If I were shooting these, I would have called these very lucky shots
looks like you have a great talent there!

great work!
