the Tetons are Great
Camera: K5 Photo Location: Wyoming
Posted By: Bob Harris, 01-29-2014, 03:37 PM

When the earth's crust cracked along a fault millions of years ago, the Tetons rose into the sky. The exposed crystalline rocks give these mountains their dramatic appearance. The Grand Teton rises to 13,770 feet above sea level and 12 other peaks reach above 12,000 feet elevation. We were blessed with one clear sky out of the week that we stayed in the area. As we have traveled others have told us that they visited the Tetons but never got a complete clear view. What I like about the area is it is very close to Yellowstone NP, so there is always something to do and see.

Beautiful bud, those are peaks ! The kind where you need to open the sun roof to see 'em. Rare to get a clear day indeed at that altitude.

Masterful shots of the Tetons, old buddy. These mountains are magnificent - I haven't been there in decades, but you never forget 'em.

Hey Bob - All are nice, but I really like how that 2nd one gives the appearance that the mountains are a "background" that pp'd in behind the trees & water. Nice effect!
