Red -browed Finch & NH Honey Eaters
Lens: DA55-300 Camera: K30
Posted By: Cee Cee, 01-29-2014, 09:19 PM

the first occasion to take some shots & compare with what I used to get with my old lens, even though I did get some great shots with the old lens, these seem sharper with better contast and are able to be cropped more if required.

Red-browed Finch... ( cropped a little )

Some New Holland Honey Eaters ...

cheers & thanks for looking

Super job, Cee Cee. I didn't know such birds existed - lots of color, for sure.

Nice shots! Is it the HD version of the DA 55-300?

thanks Susan, I thought I'd save my pennies and jump straight to a DA*300, that's been the plan for some time, but I can see that's going to take a while, its a lot of pennies but I'm glad I decided on this for the immediate future, its substantially better than my old sigma 70-300, cheers

thanks for the comments Rob, not the HD, would have been nice, but.... found this for under $300 in pristine condition with box, pouch & caps, only used a few times - If I had of been told it was brand new I would have believed it.

I have the same lens then, and it's excellent, so it's still good news!
