Morning Singer
Camera: K-7 Photo Location: Apollo Bay

Every morning we were serenaded by several magpies in the caravan park. This young bird was happily perched on the draw bar of our caravan while we were having breakfast less that 2 metres away. Magpie song is one of the most enjoyable sounds of the Australian bush. Their reward was a small piece of toast which they would take from the hand but only if held fully outstretched.

Nice shot! Magpies are hard to photograph, being mostly black. I agree that Magpie song is one of the most beautiful of Australian birdsongs!

Thank you, the white curved front of our caravan is a great reflector, which helped soften the morning light.

Being a young bird it had not developed its full adult plumage, it would have been a nightmare otherwise.

A cup of tea perhaps? A bit early for anything stronger

Thanks Bob. Our caravan park is I believe equivalent to what you would call a trailer park. They accommodate Caravans, RV, campers and often have permanent cabins for hire.

This is our setup parked at home

Yes and this one certainly earned his breakfast. I reckon he and his mates would have done really well going around all the sites.

Thanks Bruce, great looking rig. Jayco is a very popular brand here in the States. We call our campgrounds RV Parks generally. Glad to see other fellow campers enjoying themselves, we love the lifestyle.
