Port Campbell Panorama
Camera: K-7 Photo Location: Port Campbell
Posted By: Bruce Clark, 02-01-2014, 11:39 PM

A 7 shot panorama from western side of Port Campbell looking east along Great Ocean Road towards the 12 Apostles. The vehicles on the road to the left help give some perspective of the height of the cliffs.

Great shot - really love all the different headlands and the beautiful ocean. Do you have an on camera panorama feature, or do you use a program to piece together the photos (if so which program)? Haven't had any luck with panoramas thus far so would like to get some tips (yes I have been using a tripod).

Thanks for your interest. The K-7 has no built in pano feature. Depending on the scene I tip the camera on its side to get a taller result. I use manual focus and exposure and avoid polarising filters to gain consistent results. Most often I use a tripod, (on this occasion it was handheld) taking care to keep the horizon constant. I use Photoshop Elements for stitching.

Good luck

Thank you Susan. After walking a mile uphill to the lookout, I was not walking back for the tripod. I have to get one of the carbon fibre jobs one day.
