Nice shots. I particularly like the first and third and think the B&W effect works well.

You are right.
and the leaves do not hide from the eyes the texture of cortex

The first one is so hard to pull off (for me anyway) and you did a great job with it. I like that it is B&W also.

That's the red squirrel - a rare animal.
The red squirrels are displaced from the forest by gray squirrels.

And the B&W effect help to survive the red individuals . )

There are accents

And that the squirrel of red specie, but looks like grey ones )

I like the squirrel shot as well. Would have been a great picture to add a caption to. There is a lot of personality there

The composition and treatment of the first shot is outstanding, in my view.
